Telecommunications/VOIP Field Technician

Telecom / Data Communication Convergence Company working with KC Metro Accounts seeking highly motivated full-time Telecommunications/VOIP Field Technician. Position will be working within 50 miles of the Kansas City area and tech will be provided with a company vehicle. Medical, Dental, Vision, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Life Insurance as well as Simple IRA available after 90 days of employment. Qualified candidates receive progressive pay scale based on their level of experience.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Installation and maintenance of Customer’s communication systems.
  • Adjust voice and video configurations to minimize communication disruptions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while performing M/A/C (moves/adds/changes) work at customer sites.
  • Maintain inventory stock supplies within assigned company van.
  • Troubleshoot and provide solutions for Customer’s break-fix issues.
  • Follow procedures for checking in, checking out and reporting on all work assignments.
  • This position is a field based position.

Requirements:

  • Must have previous telecom/data/VOIP experience and tools.
  • Must have product knowledge of VOIP Telcom platforms.
  • Must be willing to pull cable, if needed.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs.
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands required of a field technician.
  • Must be able to follow directions.
  • Must be able to take and learn from constructive coaching.
  • Must have a clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team as well as stay focused and on-task when working alone.
  • Must be able to maintain professionalism, especially while on-site, in front of clients.
  • Must be punctual.
  • Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Must have strong attention to detail.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass a drug and background screen.
  • Must be able to maintain proprietary and/or confidential information and be able to sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Must be able and willing to learn to use company’s WO management software and/or smart phone app.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Avaya IP Office or similar experience/knowledge preferred.
  • Experience programming security, fire alarm, camera, PA and card access is a plus.
